Educating, Integrating and Innovating
Within the scope of social and health sciences, and from an arts and humanities perspective, the Voice, Music and Language Laboratory, located at the UNED’s Faculty of Education, aims to document voice and speech in diverse contexts, including musical, educational, psychological, linguistic, phonetic, communicational, cultural and artistic.
The laboratory is made up of a consolidated research group from UNED that includes researchers from Faculties of Education, Psychology and Philology at UNED, and researchers within Spanish and foreign Universities who collaborate with the Lab’s research projects, e.g., Brasil, Denmark, Germany, Portugal, Sweden, UK, and USA.
Other scientific and technological objectives embrace:
- The development of strategies to enable the voice in a healthy way, contributing to the improvement of the quality of life of professionals who depend on their voice to work (i.e. professional voice users).
- The application of real-time visual feedback assisted by educational digital and intermediate technology in teaching voice, singing, music and languages.
- Gender studies.
- Developmental psychology.
- Health and wellbeing
We hope to promote equal educational opportunities for all and contribute to the improvement of health and wellbeing across all ages.
